Pippa Middleton News Today: The Duchess' little sister been dismissed as a national newspaper columnist after failing to capture readers. A source told US Weekly that Middleton's contract was not renewed by Britain's Daily Telegraph six months after she began her "Sport and Social" column in September.

"The readers just weren't into it. There was a lot of negative mail coming in after each column and there were too many off-limit subjects for her. They ran out of ideas," a source at the newspaper told US Weekly.

According to Express, Middleton, 30, used her newspaper pace to write about number of antics, including chuckling, boxing and cooking pasta. However, readers are reportedly not impressed. According to a source, the column was labelled "silly and boring" by readers.

"It's fair to day reader reaction to Pippa's writing wasn't great. There were also a few issues with deciding what topics Pippa should and shouldn't write about," the source revealed.

A Telegraph spokeswoman, confirming her contract had come to an end after six months, said, "The column was great. Pippa Middleton is a professional freelance writer and has gone on to do other things for other publications."

The spokeswoman said when asked whether the decision was Pippa's or the paper's, "As far as I am aware it was just one of those things."

US Magazine reported that Middleton's Telegraph career began with a piece on her new passion, boxing, which she called "a pure but pleasing agony." Her columns went on to depict a string of exciting activities, from flipping pancakes to cycling underwater.

Earlier this year, book publisher Viking Press decided to let go of Middleton after the debut party of her planning book "Celebration".  The book reportedly sold a mere 18,000 copies. US Magazine reported that future publishing plans were shelved after that.

Pippa currently writes for Waitrose and Vanity Fair.
