Google Nexus 6 Specs: There has been a lot of talk and speculation about what might arrive with the Nexus 6 this year when Google launches it. One thing that has been said is that the device could have a 64 bit processor.

Apple was the first to offer a 64 bit processor when they put the i5 into their iPhone. Now it looks as though other phone makers will follow suit. A 64 bit processor would mean that data is moved faster than with the 32bit, but phones typically cannot send or receive data fast enough to make having that extra 32bit any use.

The thing that causes a bottleneck is the data modem and the amount of storage that is available, either in the phone or on the SD card. One of the most useful parts about having a 64 bit processor is being able to overcome the limitations of the 4GB of RAM. The Apple iPhone 5S comes with 1GB of RAM and maybe Apple could have done this to give it future proofing. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 offers 3GB of RAM and the Nexus 5 comes with 2GB of RAM. However it does seem that more rumours and speculation are pointing to the fact that the Nexus 6 will have a 64 bit processor.

It was said that Google would use the MediaTek 64 bit processor in the Nexus 6. However if this proves to be true then we could see the Nexus 6 arrive with the quad core MT6732 64 bit, which could be clocked at 1.5GHz, or the octa core MT6752 SoC running at 2.0GHz. Either of these processors would bring a very powerful processor to what is supposed to be a budget handset. But if so, would the Nexus 6 still come with a low price tag?
