“Mr. Beautiful” May Reunite Two K-Drama Friends

Korean-American actor Daniel Henney and singer-turned actress Jung Ryeo Won met on the set of "My Lovely Kim Sam Soon." She played Yoo Hee Jin, Hyun Bin's former girlfriend, the one he found it hard to forget.

Daniel Henny played Dr. Henry Kim, the man who was so in love with Yoo Hee Jin that he followed her from America to Korea. Even though the actor spoke no Korean, his name became well known in Korea because of the drama's success.

"My Lovely Kim Sam Soon" was filmed nine years ago and the two actors have remained friends since. They appeared in a few commercials together, exchanged texts and he brought her flowers when he visited the set of her 2009 drama "Princess Ja Myung."

"Henney is a friend with whom I talk about projects and text often," Jung said in an interview with Sports Seoul.

Since "My Lovely Kim Sam Soon," Henney has been working on his Korean.

 "He understands and converses well," said Jung in the Sports Seoul interview. "But we usually talk in English on the phone. "Since he's a perfectionist, I expect that he will speak Korean when he has perfect command of the language."

His command of the language continued to improve as he was cast in more k-dramas and k-movies.

After "My Lovely Kim Sam Soon," he starred in "Spring Waltz" in 2006 and then appeared in the Korean film "Seducing Mr. Perfect." His second Korean film "My Father" won him a Best New Actor award.

But he also racked up acting credits in the U.S. In 2009 he played Agent Zero in the film "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." He also appeared in the American television series "Three Rivers." In 2010, he was back in Korea starring in the drama "The Fugitive: Plan B, along with Rain and Lee Na Young."

It's not surprising that Jung finds it easy to talk to Henney in English as she was born in Seoul but grew up in Australia. The bilingual actress has also been busy since "My Lovely Kim Sam Soon."

Besides "Princess Ja Myung," she appeared in the dramas "History of a Salaryman," "The King of Dramas" and most recently "Medical Top Team." Her films include "Castaway on the Moon," "In Love and War," "Pained" and "Never Ending Story."

The actors may soon reunite for a film titled "Mr. Beautiful." He is considering the role of an artist and she is up for the role of a magazine editor who falls in love with that artist.
