The World's 100 Most Powerful Women

Forbes recently revealed its list of the "World's Most Powerful Women" and on top of the list is German Chancellor Angela Merkel. She has topped the list for four years already beating famous celebrities and politicians.

According to Forbes, they determine the Top 100 list based on money, media, impact and spheres of influence. The prestigious magazine wrote in its introduction to the Top 100 list, "Power is a charged word that covers more than the traditional definition of political and economic might."

It revealed, "Less than 5% of the top companies have women CEOs. Slightly more than 10% of the 1,645 Forbes World Billionaires 2014 are women. There are 14 incumbent female heads of state." The magazine also said, "We think differently. In addition to the hammer-and-nail philosophy, we look to leaders whose tools are their impact and influence on the global stage."

Aside from Angela Merkel, there were also renowned celebrities that were included in the 10th anniversary of the "World's Most Powerful Women" list. Oprah Winfrey ranked number 14 and that comes as no surprise since we all know how rich, powerful, and influential she is.

The popular TV show host was included in Forbes' list back in 2004 and continues to appear in the Top 100 list until this year. She was the only woman who has made it to Forbes' list for consecutive years.

This seems to be a good year for Beyonce because this was her first time to be named as one of the "World's Most Powerful Women". Her $53 million earnings could have helped her reach number 17. Her surprise album and her Spring tour were a huge hit and she also gained attention for her advocacies.

Other famous personalities that were included in Forbes' Top 100 list are Sofia Vergara (No. 32), Ellen DeGeneres (No. 46), Angelina Jolie (No. 50), Arianna Huffington (No. 52) Shakira (No. 58), Lady Gaga (No. 67), Yao Chen (No. 83), Gisele Bundchen (No. 89), and Greta Van Susteren (No. 100).
