Manny Pacquiao News: ‘Pacman’ Not Among The Choices To Fight Floyd Mayweather Next! Freddie Roach Says ‘Money’ Is Protecting Undefeated Record?

Manny Pacquiao news is up and it says that the eight-division world champion will not be among the shortlist of fighters slated to face Floyd Mayweather in his September 13 bout.

In a recent report by the International Business Times, Floyd Mayweather is looking to face either newly crowned middleweight champion Miguel Cotto for a second time, or British welterweight stand-out Amir "King" Khan.

While Miguel Cotto has yet to speak about the matter, "King Khan" will not be able to commit to the September schedule due to his religious commitments as an Islam practicing Ramadan.

However, Manny Pacquiao, who has been clamored to face "Money" since 2009, is still not among the chosen ones to step up to the plate for the September 13 schedule.

Trainer Freddie Roach has spoken about the matter, relaying the frustrations they have encountered trying to make the highly anticipated mega fight happen.

"Manny and Floyd should have happened a couple of years ago when both were in their prime," Roach told The Daily Mail regarding the Manny Pacquiao news. "I think Mayweather wanted the fight then. Later when we put them on the phone together Floyd said he wanted blood testing and 60 per cent of the money."

"Manny said yes to both but then we never heard back from Floyd again," he continued.

Most recently, rival promotion companies Top Rank Promotions headed by Bob Arum and Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions have decided to end their long-standing feud and work together. Doing so opened possibilities for more match-ups between fighters under each banner.

But for Freddie Roach, Floyd Mayweather will never fight Manny Pacquiao, mainly because the current top pound-for-pound boxer is not willing to put his undefeated record at risk.

"It's not that he's afraid of Manny," Roach clarified the Manny Pacquiao news. "No fighters are scared of anybody in the world. It's just that he believes if he goes out undefeated he will be seen as better than greats like Sugar Ray Robinson, who had losses on their records."
