Two of the European heavyweights will be playing against each other for the quarter final tie in the 2014 world cup with 3 time champions Germany taking on 1998 world cup winners France in the first quarter final of the tournament. Here is the short match preview and Lineups predictions

Its a massive game for both sides as they hope to qualify for the place in the semifinals of 2014 world cup against either Brazil or Colombia. This match will be played on 4th july 2014 and we will have the live streaming of this game right here. Germans and French both struggled against their first knockout round opponents in Algeria and Nigeria respectively. Now this is a game which can go either way but Germany will be slightly favourite for this match.

Match Preview & Team News:

Germany struggle to create any notable chances in the Algeria game for the best part of first 90 minutes, their movements was poor and crosses from the wides areas were not good either. Mario Goetze has been poor and I expect him to be replaced with Mirslov Klose

French also had to dig deep and get a later win over Nigeria, who created all sorts of problems for France with their pace and power upfront, Paul Pogba scored in the last 15 minutes which was followed by another goal in the dying moments of the game. But this 2-0 result does not reflect the the nature of the game.

So far all knockout ties has been closely contested and I can see another hard fought game where the winner will be crowned in extra time or possibly on penalties. Looking at the performance of both sides in the round of 16, French side looks to be the team in form while Germans looks shaky at the back and lost of ideas in the final third.
