The first trailer for the new movie Before I Go to Sleep has been unveiled today. Starring Nicole Kidman, the movie is about a woman named Christine (played by Kidman) who has survived a particularly vicious attack that happened 10 years ago.

As a result, Kidman's character is suspicious of everyone in her life, even her husband who is played by Colin Firth. She is also unsure if she can trust her doctor, who is played by Mark Strong.

In an interview with Empire, director Rowan Joffe (Brighton Rock) has said, "It's classic noir" Of Firth and Kidman's on-screen partnership, Joffe said, "They remind me of a Hitchcock pairing: a tall, dark handsome lead and a beautiful blonde playing psychological cat and mouse!"

Before I Go to Sleep is the debut novel of S.J. Watson. The book is a Sunday Times and New York Times bestseller. It has become a bestselling novel in Canada, France, Bulgaria and the Netherlands, and has been translated into more than 30 languages. This clip from the movie shows Kidman whispering her video journal entries, and being paranoid about everyone around her. This new thriller calls to mind films like Memento and The Bourne Identity.

The film will have its screen debut on September 12.

This is Kidman's latest offering after starring in the biopic Grace of Monaco, where she plays Princess Grace Kelly. The movie which was panned by critics at the Cannes Film Festival. The Hollywood Parade has called it a "dreary parade of lifeless celebrity waxworks," while The Telegraph as called the script "awful."
