Death Note Remake To Be Done By Hollywood; Gus Van Sant Rumored To Be Directing The American Film Adaptation Of The Popular Anime

Lately, one of the favorite animes of today "Death Note" has been rumored to be remake by Hollywood, and reportedly, it will be directed by Gus Van Sant.

According to IGN, although there is no formal confirmation about the american film adaptation of Death Note, it appears that Gus Van Sant will take over this project.

The basis of the news is from  The Tracking Board's post (see the exact link here: https://goo.gl/hzGkHk). It is said here that Van Sant will take over for Shane Black, who is now focusing for the direction of the new Predator movie. 

The exact statement of the website :

"The film follows the story of a high school student who finds a mysterious notebook that lets him instantly kill any person by writing their name in the book. As the student's body count piles up, a nameless FBI agent begins tracking him."

IGN noted that the original Death Note serial garnered more than 25 million copies and it ran from  2003 to 2006. 

Due to the achievement and popularity of the manga, it has made a series of video games, a TV series and several live-action movies in Japan. 

According to HitFix, the original manga series tells the story of a high school student who finds a notebook that grants whoever owns it the ability to kill anyone simply by writing their name in the notebook. 

By using the said Death Note, he gets the the attention of the Shinigami, a disturbing race of inter-dimensional death gods.
