K-drama characters are fictional and thus no substitute for an actual boyfriend, but there's a lot that boyfriends can learn from them.

Men, take note. If your girlfriend likes k-dramas, you may want to watch a few and pick up some pointers from the likes of Choi Jin Hyuk and Lee Min Ho. You don't have to save your girl from a speeding truck like Kim Soo Hyun did in "You Who Came From The Stars," wait for her for 15 years as Park Yoochun did in "Missing You," or make her your empress as Ji Chang Wook did in "Empress Ki."

Here are a few simple things k-drama leads do that set women's hearts a-flutter and show they care.

1.     The Band-Aid. In "Fated To Love You," Choi Jin Hyuk blows softly on Jang Nara's scrape and then puts a cute bandage on it. Of course, Jang Hyuk later takes it off when she is sleeping and replaces it with one of his, but that's beside the point. In real-life the only person who usually puts a bandage on you is your mom. It's a remarkably tender gesture.

2.     The Light Bulb. Change a light bulb without being asked. In "I Hear Your Voice," Lee Jong Suk is worried about Lee Bo Young walking home alone in the dark.  Without asking he changes the light bulb on her street. She doesn't know he did it but that may be why it takes her so long to fall for him.

3.     The Cake. There are few sweeter gestures than a k-drama lead baking a cake for the woman he loves. In dramas this occasionally backfires as the heroine was not expecting a cake and wanted an engagement ring, but in real life, a cake is sweet in more ways than one.

4.     The Bike Ride. Take her bike riding as Seo In Guk did with Lee Ha Na in "High School King of Manners" or Lee Jong Suk did with Jin Se Yeon in 'Doctor Stranger." Or Lee Dong Wook did for "Kim Sun Ah" in the "Scent of a Woman." There's something about riding in tandem that makes two people feel like a couple.

5.     The Forehead Kiss. Lee Min Ho gave Park Shin Hye a forehead kiss in "The Heirs." Hyun Bin kissed Ha Ji Won on the forehead in "Secret Garden" and Kim Bum kissed Park Jin Hee in "The Woman Who Still Wants To Marry." Moon Geun Young got a forehead kiss from Kim Jae Wook in "Mary Stayed Out All Night" and one from Chun Jung Myung in "Cinderella's Sister." It's a kiss that says I really like you without being predatory.
