Pop sensation Ariana Grande recently received news that her grandfather passed away.

While the singer revealed the news on her Twitter account, her brother, Frankie Grande, had no idea of knowing due to his current gig on the CBS show "Big Brother."

For those who aren't familiar with "Big Brother," the show is incredibly strict about letting news of the outside world enter the home under any circumstances, according to HiddenRemote.

However, "Big Brother" producers chose to break the news to Frankie on the show late Wednesday, according to TMZ.

Ariana Grande reportedly obeyed their grandfather's final wish to let her brother continue on "Big Brother" despite his illness.

When Frankie received the letter informing him of the tragic news, he was seen breaking down in tears, as reported on the BB live feed, and went on to share the news with everyone else in the house. Some of the other house-guests were seen crying with him, according to the gossip website.

It is reportedly extremely rare for "Big Brother" producers to break quarantine and allow the contestants on the show to get news from outside of the home. The only other time it happened was 9/11.

Despite the devastating news of his grandfather's death, Frankie reportedly decided to stay on the show, while the rest of the house rallied behind him.
