Joachim Low, have you ever thought about quitting?

"Not for a second."

Joachim Low has confirmed that he will still be coaching Germany's national football team until 2016, the end of his contract.

The extended contract will now cover up the 2016 European Championships in France. The 54- year- old coach took the team in a World Cup championship in Brazil just this month.

Because of this, it is only obvious that Low loved his job, and he is happy to continue on his work for the team.

"I didn't extend my contract until 2016 just to break it early," he added, in an interview (in German) up on the German Football Association website.

"I just needed a few days to get a grip of all my feelings and for my focus to become clear again."

"We are proud of Jogi Löw. He has carried the name of Schönau throughout the world," said Peter Schelshorn, the mayor of his hometown.

Low became coach in 2006, and because of his World Cup accomplishments, he is set to be awarded as an honorary citizen of the said hometown.

Low was an ex- midfielder in his days for the Bundesliga club SC Freburg, where he is still the defending holder of the highest scorer. He also had a short stint at Karlsrucher SC, and VfB Stuttgart. In Switzerland, he played for FC Schaffhausen and FC Wintherhur.

Oddly enough, Low only played at national level for only four times at the German National Under-21 Football Team.

He started coaching the same teams he was on, such as Winterthur, Stuttgart, and Karlsruher. It was only in 2004 that Low began his national managerial position for the German team when he started as the assistant coach.

The German national football team has won third place in the World Cup in 2006 and 2010, thanks to his coaching. They also won third place in 2012 for the UEFA European Championship, and second place for the same event in 2008.
