Ariana Grande and her brother Frankie Grande lost their grandfather earlier this week.

The pop sensation's brother found out about their grandfather's death on the show "Big Brother," which he is currently competing on.

"Thank you for your continuous love & light over the past few weeks. . .  we did lose my favorite person to ever exist yesterday, my grandpa," tweeted Ariana Grande on Wednesday.

The "Problem" singer continued, "If only ya'll knew how amazing he was. . . my [heart] hurts so much. It's beyond broken, but I got to hold his hand and watch him find his peace."

Because Frankie is currently unable to have access to news from the outside world, he found out about his grandfather's death in the form of a letter, which Ariana watched him read on the live feed, according to Yahoo News.

Despite the recent tragedy, Frankie has reportedly decided to remain on "Big Brother."

Although the general consensus is that it was right for "Big Brother" producers to tell Frankie that his grandfather had passed, former constants of the show recently had a debate about whether that was actually the right move, according to TMZ.

Rachel Reilly, winner of season 13 reportedly stated that producers had an obligation to tell Frankie while Spencer Clawson, a contestant on season 15 expressed that it was a "horrible move by producers."
