The trailer of Mad Max Fury Road trailer has just been unveiled online. This trailer is hot on the heels of the exclusive clips that director George Miller released during the Comic-con panel for Fury Road. During the panel, the director talked with moderator The Nerdist's Chris Hardwick about his upcoming reboot of his 1979 hit science fiction movie.

It will be remembered that the 1979 Mad Max movie had starred a relatively unknown 23-yeard old Mel Gibson. The movie, about the dynamic but troubled Max Rockatansky became so successful that it spawned two sequels: Mad Max 2, and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdom.

Fast forward to 2015 Mad Max is back on screen with Tom Hardy replacing Gibson's iconic role. Charlize Theron co-stars as shaved-head commander Imperator Furiosa. Nicholas Hult (X-Men: Days of Future Past), Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nathan Jones, Zoe Kravitz, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley also co-star

The Mad Max Fury Road trailer shows a dystopian world -- dusty and dangerous, where violence and conflict could spring up at any minute. The movie was reportedly filmed in very challenging circumstances in the desert of Namibia, and Hardy -- who is best known for his chilling portrayal of Bane, in The Dark Knight, -- says that the experience was well-suited for the movie's themes. "It was mental in a brilliant way," Hardy shares in the magazine. "You have no concrete, no coffee shops. We were in the middle of a sandpit."

Miller, who is now 69, actually had the vision his of the Mad Max reboot way back in the year 2000. But the Australian filmmaker wanted to be certain of all the key elements that he wanted to bring back to life in Mad Max.

The Australian director had said interviews that Mad Max Fury Road will extend the story of the original film and is "almost a continuous chase."

"Chase movies are the purest form of cinema," Miller said. "[I] wanted to make one long chase and pick up the story along the way. It was certainly familiar, but a lot of time has passed, the technology has changed."

The movie will be released in 2015, but in the meantime, watch the Mad Max Fury Road trailer below.
