Kim Soo Hyun's Cousin To Debut In China

Plenty of k-drama actors have musical relatives that are also in the entertainment business. For example, Park Shin Hye's brother Park Shin Won is a singer and a musician. He did the guitar accompaniment and arrangement for the B1A4 song "Oh My God."

Thunder, who is a member of the band MBLAQ, is building up a resume as an actor. He appeared in the dramas "Padam Padam" and "Nail Shop Paris" but that's not all he is famous for. He has a famous musical sibling in 2NE1's Sandara Park.

Kim Soo Hyun's cousin can now also be added to the list of k-drama actors with musical relatives. The actor's younger cousin Zion belongs to the six-member idol group N-Sonic.

Kim Soo Hyun's current popularity in China may have something to do with the fact that Zion and the other N-Sonic members will soon have a Hong Kong debut. Everything remotely connected to Kim Soo Hyun is guaranteed to draw interest in China.

Kim Soo Hyun was already well known in China before his drama "You Who Came From The Stars" became such a hit. But now he is a superstar. Both he and his "You Who Came From the Stars" co-star Jun Ji Hyun are highly sought after models there. And anything associated with them-or the drama-is trending.

According to the Chinese news outlet Xinhua News Agency, N-Sonic will not only make their debut in Hong Kong but also begin music promotions in China and Korea.

Although Zion has earned a lot of attention for being related to Kim Soo Hyun, he is not intimidated by the connection. Nor does he want to take advantage of his famous cousin.

"I don't feel particularly stressed about the connection," he said. "There are still many people who don't know that I am his cousin. I know that his popularity is tremendous but I don't have any plans to take advantage of it."

N-Sonic was formed in 2011 and originally had seven members. Zion, whose real name is Lee Hang Suk trained with Cube, JSTAR and B2M Entertainment and passed audition stages at JYP and DSP. He was first introduced as Lee Sion but is now just called Zion.

The band recently made a comeback with a title track and a mini album that are both called "Pop Beyond."
