The Cast Of "Tazza 2" Talks About Their New Film

The cast of "Tazza: The High Rollers 2" recently sat down to discuss their upcoming film with the press. The film's stars, Shin Se Kyung, Choi Seung Hyun a.k.a. BigBang's T.O.P., and Kim Yoon Suk were asked whether they felt pressured by comparisons to the original film "Tazza," released in 2008. Because the original "Tazza" was so popular it naturally creates high expectations.

"I was under a lot of pressure," said T.O.P. of his role. "The previous movie was popular among adults rather than people my age."

But people his age are likely to buy a ticket just to see the romantic chemistry between the singer-actor and actress Shin Se Kyung, who was last seen in the drama "When A Man Loves."

In "Tazza 2" T.O.P. plays Dae Gil. The character is a cousin of Jo Sung Woo's character in the original film. Dae Gil was born with a natural talent for gambling but that means he also lives in a world full of con artists. He is reunited with his first love Mina, played by Shin Se Kyung, just before being set up as the scapegoat in a bad deal. When the deal goes wrong, he is forced to flee for his life.

To play their parts T.O.P. and Shin Se Kyung had to learn the Korean card game of Hwatu.

"I learned hwatu for the first time," Shin Se Kyung told the Joongang Daily. "Later on it got so fun I almost thought I could get addicted."

According to the film's director Kang Hyung Cheol, the plot of "Tazza 2" may seem similar to the original film but each movie in what is likely to be a four-part film series will be different. Each film has a different director. And while actors Yoo Hae Jin and Kim Yoon Suk, who appeared in the original "Tazza," will return for this film, there are also new characters, played by actors Lee Kyung Young and Kim In Kwon.

Fans of the first film are wondering if T.O.P. will be able to fill the shoes of the first "Tazza" star Jo Sung Woo. T.O.P. is no longer a rookie actor. He has several films to his credit now, including "Nineteen," "71: Into The Fire," "Iris the Movie" and "Commitment."

Shin Se Kyung has appeared in several films including "My Little Bride," "Five Senses of Eros," and "R2: Return to Base."

Kim Yoon Suk appeared in the films "the Chaser," "Punch" and "The Thieves." "Tazza" was considered his breakout role.

"Tazza 2," the second film is based on the "Tazza" cartoon series, will be released this fall.
