Neil Patrick Harris Selfie Is Nothing But Makeup! ‘Hedwig’ Star Shares Naked Photo On Twitter After Broadway Performance [PHOTO]
Neil Patrick Harris stripped off his "Hedwig" character the best way he knows how.
The 41-year-old actor shared a nude snapshot of himself on Twitter shortly after his performance in the Broadway production of "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" on Thursday.
"Other dressing room. Post show. Post wig. Just did this," Harris captioned his nude selfie.
In the photo, the "How I Met Your Mother" alum can be seen standing in front of a bathroom sink in his birthday suit and wearing smudged blue eye shadow, smeared lipstick and a look of an actor who just showed off everything he has on stage.
Harris, who lost more than 20 pounds in order to play the titular character of Hedwig, only showed his upper body in the snapshot.
Two hours before, the seasoned thespian also posted another Twitter photo of himself in makeup and character as he was about to start his performance.
"Dressing room. Pre show. Pre wig. Let's do this," Harris captioned the photo.
The Tony Award winning actor has been bringing down the house with his character, German transgender singer Hedwig, since the rock musical opened in Broadway, but not for much longer.
Harris has about two weeks left before he departs the show on Aug. 17. He will be replaced by Tony nominee and "Girls" actor Andrew Rannells for a limited eight-week run starting on Aug. 20.
Rannells earned a Tony nomination for his performance as Elder Price in the original Broadway production of "The Book of Mormon." He has previously played the role of Hedwig in a 2001 staging of the rock musical in Austin.
