The new Vin Diesel movie The Last Witch Hunter has added another fantasy movie actor alumni to its stellar cast list. Elijah Wood, known to everyone for playing Frodo Baggins in The Lord of The Rings trilogy has signed on to be part of The Last Witch Hunter.
The Last Witch Hunter is a story of an immortal witch hunter, who is on a mission to track down and completely annihilate a coven of witches that are hiding in New York City, to stop them from hatching out their evil plan to cover the city in a plague. In an interesting twist of events, the witch hunter must work together with a witch to help him accomplish his task.
The movie is being directed by Breck Eisner (The Crazies). It stars Game of Thrones actress Rose Leslie, and Dark Knight's Michael Caine. Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama (Dracula Untold) penned the screenplay of the movie, and the production is set to start rolling this month.
Casting Elijah Wood as part of the movie is a good sign that The Last Witch Hunter has been able to get its act together, with elements in the movie falling into place. The movie was announced as early as 2010, but it is only now that things are starting to roll.
Vin Diesel's attachment to the project has ensured that, and although the actor has been busy with his other films, such as Fast & Furious 7, the sequel to Riddick, and Guardians of the Galaxy, the actor has made sure to let fans know that things are happening for The Last Witch Hunter.
On the actor's Facebook page, he recently posted a photo of what seems to be concept art for the movie. The photo showed panels of art for The Last Witch Hunter, and even the poster of the movie right up there so that people will not be confused at what they're looking at.
