The Giver Movie Trailer: Watch Four The Giver Teaser Clips Here; See The Star Studded Cast Including Taylor Swift, Meryl Streep, Jeff Bridges, Katie Holmes In The Much Awaited Film
The Weinstein company gives us more glimpses into the world of their newest star studded film, The Giver. There is not one, not two, not three, but four additional clips of The Giver Movie trailer, and in these we can see the major stars of the film which include Meryl Streep, Odeya Rush, Cameron Monaghan and Katie Holmes.
The Giver is of course based on the dystopian, science fiction book by Newbery Award-winner Lois Lowry. It has been a favorite of the young adult crowd since its release, and now finally we are seeing it in the big screen.
The story is set in the future, where society has evolved to make it that the powers that be have devised a way to rid everyone of emotions, conflict, and even seeing color, so as t o maintain a sense of peace and unity.
All, that is, except for the most revered man in the society -- the Giver, who retains it all for the sake of the community.
The story centers around Jonas, who becomes the Receiver of Memories, the new Giver-in-training. But something stirs in Jonas such that he wants to change the current status quo so that everyone may share in the things that only he and the Giver know about. Doing this gets Jonas head to head with the Chief of Elders, chillingly played by Meryl Streep.
The new The Giver movie trailers gives us more details into the relationship between Jonas and his love interest Fiona (Odeya Rush), as well as the building conflict between the Jeff Bridges' The Giver and Meryl Streep's Chief Elder. We also see the effect of Jonas' transformation on people around him, for example, the clash between Fiona and Jonas' mom, who is played by Katie Holmes.
We also see Taylor Swift playing Rosemary, whom The Giver explains is now just a memory, since things did not go well for her as the Receiver of Memories.
The Giver will be released on August 15.
