Doctor Who season 8

In the newest season of Doctor who, our 12th doctor will be setting off on brand new adventures starting August 23. The newest actor to play the time traveling doctor, Peter Capaldi is seen in this new trailer for Doctor Who Season 8.

And it looks like the doctor is wasting no time in getting himself tangled up in some crazy adventures. The trailer shows us that this time, it involves dinosaurs and trying to escape from them.

There is even a glimpse of a redecorated TARDIS, a development that does not impress Clara (played by Jenna Coleman). "I don't like it," she says.

Meanwhile, long time fans will be happy to see Neve McIntosh who is shown in the trailer as Vastra, a Silurian detective hailing from Victorian times.

The upcoming Doctor Who season 8 pilot episode is set to make new records to wow audiences and hopefully encourage them to get on board with the newest actor playing Doctor Who.

There will be 75 minutes of pure Doctor Who adventure on its season premiere. This is reportedly the longest episode of Doctor Who ever since the show got kickstarted again in 2005.

Other exciting developments for Doctor Who is the possibility of none other than Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson himself, directing an episode or two of the long-running series.

"I think it will happen at some point," showrunner Steven Moffat said in an interview with SFX. "He's still incredibly busy on The Hobbit. I've spoken to him face to face, and he would like to do one. I mean, he can do what the hell he likes - he owns New Zealand!"

This news of Peter Jackson possibly directing a Doctor Who episode has been around since last year, since it is well known that the New Zealander is an avid fan of the long-running BBC show. Moffat even revealed that Peter Jackson, would be willing to accept a non-traditional type of renumeration for his work. "We give him a Dalek and then he'll direct an episode," Moffat has said. "That's what he wants."

Fans should stay tuned for more confirmation about this news. In the meantime, enjoy the trailer for the premiere episode of Doctor Who Season 8, entitled "Deep Breath."
