"The Killing" season 5 rumors hint of a revival based on the two previous cancellations, as new detail emerges about Linden supposedly was meant to die but deserved a better ending.

According to The Week, which dished out "The Killing" season 5 rumors was already cancelled two times previously and still made a comeback.

"The Killing" was originally picked up by AMC in 2011 and then picked up by Netflix, or as The Week describes it, "falling into the lap of a company hungry for original content."

Showrunner Veena Sud also told The Week that having "The Killing" picked up by Netflix allowed them to end the series on their own terms.

"After coming back from the dead twice, it absolutely feels like a victory lap. Not only were we able to come back twice, but this final season is how I wanted to end the story of Sarah Linden from the very beginning," she said.

Meanwhile, Sud also told Michael Ausiello of TVLine when she said that they thought of killing off Linden in the finale.

"Certainly, it was a thought over the years. My feeling was, in order for the story to end, Linden either had to continue down this dark road, or find her way out of the valley of darkness. And I felt that Linden, deserved the latter ending. I didn't want to kill her. I love her too much. And after everything she's been through, she deserved some peace."

Now, online forums were awash with "The Killing" rumors about another comeback after two cancellations, but executive producer Veena Sud told TVLine that this would be the end of the line for both Linden and Holder.

"We brought her to the end of her journey. She found the thing that she was looking for all along. It's the end of the story," she said.
