Rain started filming his new drama "My Lovely Girl" this past weekend and the first day of shooting in Seoul prompted him to make a special request of his fans.

While he assured his fans that he is grateful for their devotion, he asked that they not visit the set while he is filming. He worries that the presence of too many fans will make it difficult for the crew to film and cause problems for the other members of the cast.

"Since I'm not the only one making the drama, I feel sorry for other staff members," the singer-actor said on Twitter.

He apologized to the fans that came to see him the first day of shooting.

"I am sorry to my fans because I can't say hello and talk to each and every one of you."

He asked his fans to demonstrate his love for the musical comedy by watching it when it airs.

But it's not surprising that fans turned out at the film set in droves.

"My Lovely Girl" will be Rain's first drama role since he was discharged from his two-year military duty last summer. He last appeared in a drama in 2012 when he played Captain Jung Tae Yoon in "Fugitive: Plan B." In the last year the singer-actor has been focused on film work, appearing in the Hollywood film, "The Prince" with Bruce Willis, and the Chinese film "Difficult Love."

The first day's shooting for "My Lovely Girl" took place in Mapo, Seoul at a café. It showed Rain's character heading to work at the AnA Entertainment. In "My Lovely Girl" he plays Hyun Wook, a composer and entertainment agency CEO. That role is a fitting one as Rain is not only a popular actor but also a wildly successful musician. And he started his own entertainment company J. Tune Entertainment, which later merged with JYP Entertainment.

In the first scene shot for "My Lovely Girl," Alex Chu, who played his best friend Sung Jin, is helping Hyun Wook to look for information about Se Na, the character played by f(x)'s Krystal Jung. Rain's character lost his girlfriend, Se Na's older sister, in an accident. Se Na has dreams of becoming a music producer.

"My Lovely Girl" also stars Cha Ye Ryun, Kim Myung Soo a.k.a. Infinite's L, Lee Ho Won a.k.a. Infinite's Hoya, Dani and Park Doo Sik. Hoya plays the leader of a fictional idol group. The musical comedy begins Sept. 17th.
