Mariah Carey looks okay. The Butterfly artist was out and about in New York City, her first appearance in public after the rumors of her marital woes with Nick Cannon began circulating the headlines. Nick Cannon's comments confirmed and ended the rumors. They had been living apart because of present marital troubles.

The Diva was seen her favorite butterfly ring replacing her wedding ring. She was dressed in Grecian-cut, royal purple maxidress and high heeled slippers. Mariah was walking with a male bodyguard, going to American Apparel to shop. The singer stopped to pose for photos with fans and was laughing with her bodyguards. Mariah was so furious when Cannon spoke publicly without her but eventually asked for her apology. He said sorry for confirming about the divorce. He admitted that it was not okay.

The host of America's Got Talent was seen leaving the NYC apartment yesterday that he shared with his wife. He was wearing patterned slouchy pants, casual sweatshirt, a red baseball cap with the word SAVED written on it. He was not wearing a wedding ring.

But, it is possible that Cannon and Carey talked if the Diva was home when he was visiting the apartment. Based on reliable soruces, Mariah Carey has restricted their interactions to "short messaging" only. She does not wish to speak with Nick as long as he is using the divorce for what she perceives is professional and personal profit. Mariah does not want to see Nick. She does not see him whenever he visits their children, Moroccan and Monroe. There are unconfirmed reports that the estranged couple had dinner together in Tribeca on Friday night.

When reporters ask her about the divorce, Mariah instantly answers, "no comment," or "I will never comment, Thanks." The 44-year-old Dream lover singer has so far stayed quiet about the controversy.
