Finding Carter Season 2 Premiere Date: MTV Coming Of Age Series Renewed For Second Season; Will Carter Finally Find Lori?

The MTV series Finding Carter has just been recently announced to be confirmed for a second season. Earlier this August, MTV confirmed that the drama series is renewed for a second season, but the Finding Carter season 2 premiere date has not been announced.

Finding Carer premiered last July 8, 2014, and will run until September 16. The show is a teen drama on MTV and it revolves around a young woman named Carter (played on the series by Kathryn Prescott), who unexpectedly learns that the woman she had thought to be her mother all along, was kidnapper who had stolen her.

She is reinstalled to her real family, but she does not want her new life, and is secretly plotting to be back again with the mother she had grown up with, Lori. Carter's biological mother is really bent on exacting punishment for Lori's crime of abducting her daughter, meanwhile her father is furtively finishing the follow up book to his story about Carter's abduction. Though no Finding Carter season 2 premiere date has been announced yet, the show is going strong with the young adult audience.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Finding Carter averaged 1.25 million total viewers, which then increases to some 70 percent when three days delayed viewing is brought into play. Furthermore, it occupies the number 1 spot on the MTV streaming mobile app.

MTV programming president Susanne Daniels is proud of the show, saying, "The creative minds behind Finding Carter did an exceptional job bringing this story to life and drawing our audience in. I'm looking forward to another season following Carter on her journey.

The show was created by Emily Silver, who is also behind the successful crime series Bones.

Internationally, Finding Carter season 1 is set to premiere on January 15, while those who have enjoyed the first season will have to wait for the announcement of the Finding Carter season 2 premiere date.
