Jimi Jamison Survivor's Lead Vox Died At 63; 'Eye Of The Tiger' Singer Passed Away On Sunday Night Due To Heart Attack

Jimi Jamison, Survirvor's lead singer passed away Sunday night and he was 63.

TMZ has been told by Jamison's booking agent, Sally Irwin, that singer died due to heart attack at his home in Memphis. Lately, he and the band had just performed on Saturday night in Northern California.

Jimi joined Survivor in 1984 after their smash hit "Eye of the Tiger". He was also the lead singer on other classic songs like, "The Moment of Truth" (from "The Karate Kid"), "The Search Is Over," and "Is This Love: and as well "Burning Heart" from "Rocky IV."

His band Survivor also appeared at Hard Rock Live in Northfield and Horseshoe Casino in Cincinnati, featuring original guitarist Frankie Sullivan, and orginal lead vocalist Dave Bickler and Jimi Jamison last August according to Norwalkreflector.com.

Variety includes to their report about Survivor that the band is popularly known for "Rocky III" theme song "Eye of the Tiger."

Aside from Survivor, the lead vox was also a member and vocalist of the band Cobra in 1984. According to Variety "two years after the hit single was released, and original Survivor vocalist Dave Bickler was forced to leave due to polyps on his vocal chords. Jamison provided vocals for the band's "The Search is Over,"
