Rumors have swirled plenty for the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice movie directed by Zack Snyder, especially about casting choices. The internet and its various social media platforms erupted with opinions as to the casting of several key characters in movie. For example, Ben Affleck as Batman, as well as Fast And The Furious' Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.

Still, much of the casting choices for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice has been kept secret with rumors swirling about Jesse Eisenberg being chosen to play Supermna's nemesis Lex Luthor. The latest speculation is that Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch is the next actor to be cast as a villain in this movie! Adding fuel to the fire is the fact that the actor himself refuses to shoot down the rumors that Batman V Superman is not an upcoming Benedict Cumberbatch movie.

It all started with a tweet from Chi Chi Izundo (@blondeadfro), a BBC Radio 1 and BBC Three presenter, when he posted the following:

"Benedict Cumberbatch says he's not going to put to bed rumours he's the baddie in #BatmanvSuperman @BBCNewsbeat"

Everybody is latching on to this refusal by Cumberbatch to deny the speculations of him playing another villain in another famous franchise, and they all believe that the The Hobbit actor could be the one playing Brainiac. For those of you not in the know, Braniac is a supervillain who is an extraterrestrial android "responsible for shrinking and stealing Kandor, the capital city of Superman's home planet of Krypton." Brainiac has since kept the stolen city in a bottle. For fans, if this were the next Benedict Cumberbatch movie, they wouldn't mind at all since he seems to be the perfect guy to play Brainiac.

In any case, if he does play Brainiac, he will be the next actor to join the already star studded cast which includes Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.
