As Lee Byung Hun's Blackmailers Face Arrest, The Video Footage Is Reportedly Leaked
While Lee Byung Hun resolves to take an uncompromising stance against his alleged blackmailers, there are rumors that the video they wanted to blackmail him about was leaked .
The police seized that video when they searched the homes of the alleged blackmailers, who have been identified as actress and GLAM member Dahee, 20, and a 25-year-old model whose last name is Lee. When questioned by the police, both women are said to have partially admitted to the charges.
The video was taken on a smartphone while the two women and the actor were having drinks with a mutual friend. According to Sports Chosun, they met at a bar and later that night began a discussion in which Lee Byung Hun supposedly used profanity and began talking inappropriately. Some reports say that the later conversation happened at the singer's home.
Search warrants were issued on Sept. 2nd, which resulted in the search of Dahee's home and the seizure of her laptop and smartphone. These were taken to the police and have been examined by Judge Kim Seung Jo, who will decide how to proceed.
In the recording, a male reportedly asks the women about male anatomy, the women's sexual experience and preferences.
The star's agency, BH Entertainment, has asked police to prosecute the two women who threatened to release the video footage unless Lee Byung Hun paid them $5 million.
"We do not plan to go easy on the blackmailers," said a BH representative.
This is not the first time someone tried to blackmail Lee Byung Hun. In 2009, Kwon Mi Yeon, a Canadian gymnast sued him for seducing her with false promises of marriage. He was cleared of that charge, but one of the gymnast's friends was charged with conspiring to extort money from the actor.
Lee Byung Hun's wife, actress Lee Min Jung, was out of the country when he reported the incident to the police. She has made no statement regarding the video or the blackmail attempt.
Lee Byung Hun is now regarded as an international star. He was last seen in "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" and "Red 2." His upcoming films include "Memories of the Sword," "Terminator: Genisys" and "The Insiders."
Dahee appeared in the drama "Monstar" with BEAST's Yoon Jung Hyung in 2013. GLAM had a comeback in March 2013 with "In Front of the Mirror."
