As "Fated To Love You" heads toward its romantic and hopeful conclusion, Jang Hyuk had a few words about his role in the drama.

He released a statement through his agency Sidus HQ,  and explained his mixed emotions about the drama's ending.

"I'm happy but sad at the same time that the drama has ended," he said. "Actually, more than feeling happy, I'm more sad as I wonder when I will get to film a project like this again, working with a director and cast members like them?"

The comedy does serve as a great example of a successful ensemble performance. Even the small performances were above par. And the writing was engaging too. Based on the manga of the same name, the comedy veered deftly between slapstick humor and tear-inducing tragedy. "Fated to Love You" opened with laughs but very delicately and poignantly handled the heartbreaking loss of an unborn child.

Jang Hyuk also credits co-star Jang Nara with making "Fated to Love You" a positive experience.

"I enjoyed filming with my leading lady who I've worked with in the past and I enjoyed good team work communicating with her, so I think I will remember this project for a long time," he said.

The couple previously worked together 12 years ago in the comedy "The Successful Story of a Bright Girl," which earned viewer ratings as high as 42.6 percent.

He also talked about how much he enjoyed working with the director who left him free to interpret the character of chaebol Lee Gun as he saw fit. Lee Gun was the ninth generation heir of a rich family who urgently wanted him to supply the next heir.  But he was also a man with a potentially fatal disease. Jang Hyuk played Lee Gun as both a laughable and yet endearing character. With his maniacal laugh and swaggering gestures, he was overbearing and at the same time vulnerable.

Finally, the actor thanked the audience for appreciating his drama.

"I am grateful that many people sympathized with and loved the drama, regardless of the viewership rating. I will work hard so that it can remain an enjoyable drama until the end."

The drama may not have reached 42.6 percent in the ratings as his previous drama with Jang Nara did but it did more than okay. It even briefly earned first place in the ratings for its time slot. It also successfully reminded viewers just how entertaining an actor Jang Hyuk can be.
