The US National Team was scheduled to play with Slovenia but it was not what made the headlines for the said match. During an interview portion in the World Cup, American basketball player DeMarcus Cousins was ask by a European reporter if he knows where Slovenia is.

Not the one to back down, Cousins cheekily answered "No. Do you know where Alabama is?" Awkward. Now that is something that made the news. Many applauded Cousins response over a question so trivial yet it got people's attention.

Cousins' was born in Mobile, Alabama. Most probably, Alabama is the first location he can think off to fire back at the reporter. Although it is not clear how the reporter replied back to him, the twitter world seems to be amused over the 24 year olds reply saying his response was "classic" and calling to "well done."

Some of the twitter comments range from "swagged on em haha" while others say "Greatest response in interview history #where is Alabama."

Even media outlet such as Yahoo Sports feels the same sentiments saying "Cousins deserves credit for exposing the rank condescension at the root of this question. The only reason to ask it is to expose the ignorance of the recipient, to indulge in a tired stereotype of the uneducated (and almost always black) American basketball player with no knowledge of the world outside of his immediate experience."

But with regards to the game, their coach Mike Krzyzewski has seen a loophole in the Slovenian team's game playing in which they would be using this as an advantage for them. He said "They do not defend in their normal practice a lot of the stuff that we do, so they're not accustomed to being inside. So our guys have to take advantage of that. Not so much posting, but for offensive rebounds."

And so they did. The US National team racked up a total score of 119 leaving Slovenia eating their dust at 76 points.

According to Slovenia coach Zdovic Jure "We prepare but it's easy to prepare on the paper. Definitely they were so athletic, they were more aggressive second half and actually they punish every mistake."
