One of k-drama's most appealing couples, actors Gong Hyo Jin and Lee Jin Wook, have officially called it quits.

The couple broke up only three months after they officially announced they were dating.

According to Lee Jin Wook's agency, Will Entertainment, they decided that they would make better friends than lovers.

Her agency, Soop Entertainment also released a statement confirming that Gong and Lee recently broke up.

"The exact time and details of their breakup cannot be made public since it is a private matter," said a Soop representative.

Although Soop Entertainment would not offer details about the breakup, they did say that the actors' busy schedules prevented them from seeing each other.

Gong Hyo Jin recently wrapped up the drama "It's Okay It's Love," in which she played a psychiatrist in love with Jo In Sung's delusional character. Lee Jin Wook is currently playing the role of Crown Prince Sohyeon in "The Three Musketeers." His co-star in that drama is CNBLUE's Jung Yong Hwa.

Gong Hyo Jin and Lee Jin Wook never said how long they dated but based on sightings of them together, they probably were a couple for over a year. They were first seen together during Seoul Fashion Week in March 2013 and supposedly bonded then over a mutual love of fashion. Both actors were also photographed attending a Korean Film Night in New York City last fall. They publicly announced their relationship when they were photographed on a date together in May 2014.

Both Gong Hyo Jin and Lee Jin Wook previously publicly dated other actors.

Lee Jin Wook dated his "Air City" co-star Choi Ji Woo for three years. They broke up in 2011 and the "Temptation" star said that the public interest in their relationship contributed to the breakup. She said she would never again go public about any future relationship.

Gong Hyo Jin dated actor Ryu Seung Bum. They met on the set of the 2001 drama "Wonderful Days" and quickly went public with their relationship. They appeared together again in the 2002 comedy "Conduct Zero" but then broke up in 2003. They remained friends and reunited in 2008 as a couple and also to co-star in 'Dachimawa Lee,' which directed by his brother Ryu Seung Wan. Finally, they broke up for good in 2012.

Lee Jin Wook and Gong Hyo Jin have ended their relationship amicably and plan to remain friends.
