It's only been two episodes so far of our favorite English artistocratic family already and so much has happened? If you haven't seen these episodes yet, we will be discussing some Downton Abbey season 5 spoilers so be warned!

We've seen a fire consume Lady Edith's room, Jimmy the footman gets sacked after a roll in the hay with a former employer, Bates on the brink of being investigated for the murder of Tony Gillingham's valet, Mr. Green and Lady Mary embarking on a seriously brazen dalliance with Tony Gillingham, unbeknownst to her entire family!

And now, brand new updates for Downton Abbey season 5 spoilers is coming by way of Mr. Bates himself, played by Brendan Coyle.

According to the __  actor, the scripts he has read for this new season has left him incredibly shocked. Does this have anything to do with the fate of his character, Mr. Bates and his heavily hinted-at involvement in Mr. Green's death?

Apparently, the Downton Abbey season 5 spoiler is that the fate of his character that he found out after reading the script by creator and writer Julian Fellowes made his "jaw drop."

"We couldn't begin the series with that storyline. We had to have some abatement from that and there's a sense of them trying to heal", said the actor. "But it's very difficult. We carry a heavy burden sometimes with our storylines, as a couple, because they have a rough ride. But sometimes I think that overshadows the tenderness and love and support they have for each other."

"We have those moments. Those quite uplifting moments and moments of reprieve for us. Moments of love. Which you need," Brendan added in his interview with the British newspaper, The Mirror.

Earlier this year, another fantastic Downton Abbey season 5 spoiler was the news that the newly married George Clooney will be doing a cameo in Downton Abbey as an American guest at a wedding. This small special will be filmed to raise money for the charity Text Santa, and will air around Christmas time.

It was Hugh Bonneville who convinced Clooney to do the cameo. Bonneville plays Lord Grantham, and reportedly became good friends with Clooney after they filmed The Monuments Men.
