'You Who Came From The Stars' Earns Top Honors At Drama Awards

Success was in the stars for "You Who Came From The Stars" at the 2014 Korea Drama Awards. The alien-human romance took home five awards at the Oct. 1 event.

Kim Soo Hyun, who played the alien Do Min Joon in "You Who Came From The Stars," won the Daesang or Grand Prize. He won the Daesang over Ha Ji Won of "Empress Ki," Lee Min Ho of "The Heirs" and Jo Jae Hyun of "Jeong Do Jeon."

The drama also snagged the Best Drama Award triumphing over the critical and ratings hits "Wang Family," "Jeong Do Jeon," "Empress Ki" and "A Secret Love Affair."

Two of the supporting actors in "You Who Came From The Stars" even took home an award. Model-turned-actor Ahn Jae Hyun was given a New Actor award for his first-ever drama role playing Jun Ji Hyun's younger brother.  Shin Sung Rok received the Hallyu Hot Star Award for playing the cold-blooded villain who threatened Jun Ji Hyun's life

A Top Excellence Actor Award went to JYJ member Kim Jae Joong for playing the likeable loser Heo Young Dal in "Triangle," while a Top Excellence Actress Award went to Oh Yeon Seo for her role in "Jang Bo Ri Is Here."

The nominations for Top Excellence Award for an actor also included Ji Chang Wook, Lee Seung Gi, Lee Jong Suk  and Yoo Ah In. The Top Excellence for an actress list also included Hwang Jung Eum, Lee Ji Ah, Choi Ji Woo and Kim Hee Ae.

The Best Scriptwriting Award was given to Jung Hyun Min for "Jeong Do Jeon."

The Best Director Award went to Shin Won Ho for "Reply 1994."

Lee Kwang Soo got an Excellence Actor Award for his role as a man with Tourette's Syndrome in "It's Okay, It's Love."

Kang So Ra got an Excellence Actor award for her appearance in "Doctor Stranger."

Seo Kang Joon also get a New Actor Award for his role in "Cunning Single Lady."

Dohee got a New Actress award for her role in "Reply 1994.

Kim Ji Young won the Child Actor Award for "Jang Bo Ri Is Here."

Dohee and Kim Sung Kyun of "Reply 1994" won the award for Best Couple award.

Ryohei Otani also won a Global Star award for his role in "The Joseon Gunman."

Kang So Ra and Oh Sang Jin were the ceremony hosts.

The drama is held annually in Jinju, South Gyeongsang Province.
