‘Tree With Deep Roots’ To Be Transformed Into 3D
The award winning SBS drama 'Tree With Deep Roots' is scheduled to be turned into a 3D production. SBS Contents Hub and Samsung Electronics have partnered up to transform the 2011 drama series into a state of the arts 3D experience.
This will be the first time in Korean history that a drama will be shown in 3D, making 'Tree With Deep Roots' an experiment and a test for future references. The audience reception will set the precedent for future dramas to be shown in 3D rather than the usual 2D. Because there are so many action scenes and fancy stunts in 'Tree With Deep Roots', its translation into 3D will enhance the viewing experience.
The first episode aired on Friday June 15th. Every week a new episode will be released chronologically on Samsung Smart TV's VOD Service, also known as "3D Explorer".
Jang Hyuk, the male lead of the drama, commented upon watching a preview of the series in 3D, "'Tree With Deep Roots' was one of my favorite pieces ever, and now watching it again in 3D is a completely new experience. Because of the many action scenes, I feel like 3D makes it seem as if I'm watching a movie on a big screen."
