“Lights and Shadows”, Different Reviews of The Ending, ‘Coming To Success After Hardship Is Touching’ VS. “Weak Ending”
MBC Monday Tuesday drama "Lights and Shadows" has ended.
This drama aired November 28th of 2011 has been the number one rating drama shown on television on Mondays and Tuesdays. It has finally ended with episode 64 being the last on the 3rd of July. On the last episode, Soo Hyuk murders Chul Hwan and commits suicide due to the guilty pressure he could not overcome towards Ki Tae.
However with Soo Hyuk's death, little by little, all the events that have been messed up were solved. Jung Hye, who has been paralyzed on the bottom half of her body due to an accident Chul Hwan has planned, was able to walk again. Also, She becomes famous again after shooting a makeup commercial and a movie that earned her the best actress award.
Also, Ki Tae has earned an award for well-made movie that Jung Hye starred in. After receiving the award he comments, "My dream was consisted of shows and movies. Right now, there are many people around me who is walking with me to fulfill that dream. I want to make movies and shows that would be their dreams for a long time", and lifted his trophy in the air.
There are mixed reviews of the drama's ending. One part of the viewers said, "The ending was very touching. It helped me understand that people like Ki Tae who went through so much can see the light one day." The other part of the viewers said, "it was a disappointment that with just one bullet, the shadow disappeared. And the ending was somewhat predictable so it wasn't as exciting. We were waiting for a marriage scene of Ki Tae and Jung Hye but it was a disappointing ending."
On the other hand, the follow up drama is airing on the 9th called "Golden Time". This is a medical drama starring Lee Sun Gyun and Hwang Jung Eum.
