Floyd Mayweather news reveals that "Money" has opened his doors at Mayweather Promotions for mixed martial arts fighters. The pound-for-pound boxing king also promised "fair treatment" for fighters once they are signed up.
Since being granted his promoter's license by the Nevada Athletic Commission in July, Mayweather Jr. has been active with his second venture. This time, he is intending to take over the fight promotion business, as he opens his doors to mixed martial arts fighters.
In an exclusive interview with Fight Hype, the undefeated boxer has encouraged aspiring MMA fighters to sign and compete under the Mayweather Promotions banner.
"I look forward to putting on my first MMA show also and having me some MMA champions," Mayweather said. "Like I said before, Floyd Mayweather loves to think outside the box. We're not just one-dimensional. We are very versatile and we have an open mind."
Floyd Mayweather news also reveals "Money's" attacks on the current system of MMA promotions. The 37-year old fighter echoed the sentiments of a number of high-profile mixed martial arts fighters who have cried foul over "unfair treatment" from their respective promotion companies.
Most recently, former number one welterweight contender Nate Diaz expressed his dissatisfaction towards his latest UFC contract, which came through after months of haggling and back-and-forth dialogues with company president Dana White.
The younger Diaz spoke through his manager Mike Kogan, who willingly aired out their sentiments through a recent interview with Fight Hub TV.
"Not happy when we were signing it, just kind of made it work 'cause it was two weeks before the fight and there's just wasn't time to be making a lot of waves," Kogan said.
Mayweather addressed the said issue, as he promised that fighters, who should decide to sign a contract under Mayweather promotions, would be guaranteed "fair treatment."
"If you want to be treated fair, come over to Mayweather Promotions," Mayweather said. "We believe in the talent winning. That's what we believe in. We believe in treating our boxers and our MMA fighters fair. I want a lot of MMA fighters to get in touch with Mayweather Promotions."
