We learned earlier this October that Angelina Jolie earned yet another distinction in her other passion, as human rights advocate. Aside from being assigned as the UN Higher Commission for Refugees Goodwill Ambassador, she was made honorary dame by Queen Elizabeth II herself in London.

In attendance were her husband Brad Pitt, and several other witnesses. It was also confirmed that Brad Pit and Angelina Jolie's kids were present during the ceremony, which took place at Buckingham Palace. The six children were on their best behavior, apparently. In a recent interview with Hello!  magazine, Brad shares that the kids had put on their best foot forward for the queen, and for the solemn occasion. "We were offered the opportunity to bring the kids in to meet the Queen afterwards," Pitt shared. "[A]nd I have to say I have never seen them so still and respectful in my whole life."

Not bad for a ragtag group of kids that are a mixture of Brad and Angie's biological children -- Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox, plus their adopted ones that have come from all over the globe! Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's kids come Maddox, Pax, and Zahara, come  from Cambodia, Vietnam, and Africa respectively.

"To see them bowing and curtseying and saying 'Your Majesty' was an absolute delight," he added. "That was a lovely day for our whole family."

Angelina Jolie was given the honorary damehood for her advocacy against sexual violence. Damehood is a recognition given for services to the United Kingdom foreign policy and the campaign sexual violence during wartime. Although she cannot officially be a dame, because she is an American citizen, she can use the initials of the award after her name.

"To receive an honour related to foreign policy means a great deal to me, as it is what I wish to dedicate my working life to," the actress said earlier. "Working on the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative and with survivors of rape is an honour in itself. I know that succeeding in our goals will take a lifetime, and I am dedicated to it for all of mine."
