How much do we know about the upcoming drama "Shine or Go Crazy?" So far reports promise a little bit of history, a lot of fantasy, some fairy-tale royal romance and possibly a cast that includes Jang Hyuk and Oh Yeon Seo. There have even been some rumors about a time-traveling king.

The drama has been described as a fantasy romance saeguk set in Korea during the 10th century. In the drama, the troubled king of Goryeo falls in love with a princess from another kingdom.

Jang Hyuk is currently considering the role of King Gwangjong, a ruler whose nickname was "the crazy king." Gwangjong was known for both his political reforms and his cruelty in wiping out anyone he considered to be a threat. The king is tortured by a prophecy that he will cover his kingdom in blood.

But there may be a cure for his craziness. His tendency to bloodshed may have started with a curse. And the cure may be a princess who can lift the curse.

Oh Yeon Seo, who won praise for playing the title role in "Jang Bo Ri Is Here," is up for the role of Princess Shin Yeol. She's the last princess of the real-life Balhae Kingdom, which lasted until 926 A.D. Princess Shin Yeol is smart and strong, well educated in astronomy, geography and military strategy. And she is kindhearted. Like Beauty in "Beauty and the Beast," her influence may be able to transform the monstrously crazy king into a just and kind ruler.

Actors Ryu Seung Soo and Im Joo Hwan are also considering roles in this drama.

Jang Hyuk recently enjoyed success with the romantic comedy "Fated To Love You" and will next appear in both the drama special "Old Goodbye" and the web drama "Love Cells." But he has experience acting in historical dramas and some fans say they bring out the best in him. The actor previously appeared in "Chuno" and "Deep-Rooted Tree."

Oh Yeon Seo, who appeared in "Medical Top Team" and "My Husband Got A Family," has also acted in historical dramas. The former LUV singer appeared in the drama "King Sejong" and played Queen Inwon in the saeguk "Dong Yi."

The drama's producer Son Hyung Suk, previously worked on "Two Weeks," "An Angel's Choice," and "Personal Taste." Hyun Go Un will write the screenplay.  "Shine or Go Crazy" is set to follow "Pride and Prejudice" and will premiere in January.
