T-ARA controversy

T-ARA's member So Yeon will debut her acting career on August 6 in 'Haeundae Lovers'. However, there is expected to be a fierce backlash from fans due to the recent bullying of T-ARA member Hwa Young.

So Yeon will appear on KBS2's drama, 'Haeundae Lovers', which will air at 9:55PM. Although she had previously acted in the SBS drama 'Giant' in 2009, So Yeon claims this drama as her first real attempt at acting.

She will play the role of Lee Kwan Soon, Jo Yeo Jung's (role of Go Sora) best friend and gold digger. A preview of the drama on August 1 showed So Yeon speaking in a native dialect and also wearing a bikini, ultimately attracting much attention.

The producer of 'Haeundae Lovers' comments, "She has good manners and works very hard. I hope that you will look favorably upon her."

However, it is feared that the large number of Netizens against T-ARA because of their recent scandal will cause trouble for the program. On August 4, there was an insurmountable amount of backlash regarding the appearance of Eun Jung, Ji Yeon, and Ah Reum on MBC's "The Quiz That Changes the World".

Production members of 'Haeundae Lovers' explain, "The recent T-ARA scandal has not affected the production of the drama...Although we can't deny that we are worried, all the cast members are trying their best to concentrate on the production."

The primary cast of 'Haeundae Lovers' includes, Kim Kang Woo, Jo Yeo Jung, Jung Seok Won, Nam Gyu Ri, and Kang Min Kyung. The first episode will air on August 6 at 9:55 PM.
