Doctor Who Season 8: Watch Doctor Who Christmas Special Trailer Here; See 'Shaun Of The Dead's Nick Frost Playing Santa Claus!

Christmas is already upon us and that usually means one thing for TV land. Several of your beloved shows will be airing much awaited Christmas specials! On the English front, the time traveling doctor of the long running BBC show just recently dropped its teaser trailer for the Doctor Who season 8 Christmas special.

It will be airing after the night's final episode and it will reportedly involve aliens, plus Santa Claus himself! So who exactly is playing Santa in Doctor Who season 8's Christmas special? None other than a British actor who is no stranger to zombies and aliens -- Nick Frost! You might know Nick Frost for being Simon Pegg's co-star in the Cornetto trilogy movies which include Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World's End. This time, he will don the red suit and play a part in the Doctor Who season 8 Christmas special.

Of course, Peter Capaldi as Doctor Who will be on the episode, along with Michael Throughton (who incidentally is the son of the second doctor Patrick Troughton), plus Faye Marsay (The White Queen) Nathan McMullen (Misfits) and Natalie Gumede (Strictly Come Dancing).

The Doctor Who Christmas special 2014 comes right after season 8's finale episode entitled "Death in Heaven." The finale was written by the Doctor Who showrunner himself, Steven Moffat and directed by Rachel Talalay. The plot revolved sound the Master's evil plan to take over the entire world by bringing the dead back to life in their Cybermen form.

Even with this plotline, the finale episode was really about the relationship between Doctor Who and his companion. Both English actors Peter Capaldi (Doctor Who) and Jenna Coleman (Clara Oswald) delivered exceptional performances that really tugged at the heartstrings.
