The Hobbit The Battle Of The Five Armies Trailer

The last installment of J.R.R. Tolkien's Hobbit franchise cannot come sooner for its diehard fans. Though the first film started off slow because it had to carry the baggage of introducing the characters and elements of the plot, the second one, The Desolation of Smaug was so good that it set the tone for the high level of anticipation surrounding The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.

And now with new footage of The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies just released, the excitement is reaching fever pitch. It helps that the trailers of Peter Jackson are always the right balance between spectacle and emotion. As we see in this latest trailer, there is a foreboding sense of doom in this Hobbit movie's last installment, with an epic battle building up, and our favorite characters all readying themselves for war.

Aside from the exciting battle scenes, there is much more dialogue in this new The Hobbit The Battle Of The Five Armies trailer. We see the dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) taking over the wealth in Erebor long hoarded by the dragon Smaug. We also see that our heroes are up against not just Smaug but the forces that are being unleashed by Sauron. There is much more emotion too, with our stars battling not only physically against their enemies, but also with each other, and even with themselves.

But as Gandalf the Grey says near the end of The Hobbit The Battle Of the Five Armies trailer, "You have but one question to ask: how shall this day end?" Because it all boils down to who will emerge victorious. Of course we all know the outcome, because the Lord Of The Rings trilogy still happened, we know who will win. Yet who will give up their lives for the sake of those who will survive? The Hobbit The Battle of The Five Armies trailer features Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Orlando Bloom, Lee Pace, Evangeline Lilly, Aidan Turner, James Nesbitt. The movie will hit theaters this December, but in the meantime, enjoy the latest trailer here:
