Many were excited to hear the confirmation that Toy Story has not seen the last of its screen time when Andy grew up and gave Woody and Buzz Lightyear to a new owner. It seemed that the gang of talking toys will get to see the light of cinematic day for one more time. But along with this sense of anticipation, some were also apprehensive at the idea of a Toy Story 4. The three movies that made up the Pixar franchise seemed like a complete and perfect trilogy already. What more could be added to the mix?

Well, Pixar's head of animation John Lasseter did say that the idea for a new story involving Woody and the gang did get them so excited, which was the deciding factor why they are resurrecting the franchise. In an interview with the  Los Angeles Times, Lasseter revealed just what kind of story we could expect from Toy Story 4. And according to him, the film will revolve around a love story! What's more, the interview also revealed that the setting of the new Toy Story movie will be right smack where the third one left off, with Andy leaving Buzz, Woody, Ham, Jessie, and the rest with the little girl named Bonnie.

Lasseter added that the new story was dreamed up two years ago, and he even had some of the big names in Pixar, who were behind movies such as Up, Wall-E, and Finding Nemo to help him developt he story. He also added Rashdia Jones and Will McCormack into the writing and development pool, after seeing their work, Celeste and Jesse Forever.

So now, the big question is, which characters will be involved in this love story plot in Toy Story 4? For this bit of juicy detail, the director and his team have chosen to keep quiet. Instead, they focused on assuring fans that deciding to make sequel is not necessarily about making more money. "A lot of people in the industry view us doing sequels as being for the business of it, but for us, it's pure passion. We only make sequels when we have a story that's as good or better than the original," Lasseter explains.
