Even while pregnant with her second child, Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge cannot help but wow with her public appearances. Especially after quite a bit of an absence from the royal social circuit because of a severe case of morning sickness, any appearance by the Duchess is a celebrated event. And her recent outing did not disappoint! Accompanying her husband Prince William, Kate Middleton's pregnancy fashion wowed everyone last Thursday, November 13. The royal couple were on hand to attend the Royal Variety Performance at the London Palladium. The show was to benefit the Entertainment Artists Benevolent Fund.
The royal couple were able to meet music royalty, such as composer Andrew Lloyd Webber (Phantom Of The Opera, Cats, Evita) that evening. Both Prince William and the Duchess were dressed to impress. Kate Middleton's fashion choice for the formal evening was a black, lace gown by Diane von Furstenberg, which showed of her very tiny baby bump.
And Andrew Lloyd Weber wasn't the only popular musical personality that Prince William and Kate Middleton met that evening. They met a group whose music was of a decidedly more modern kind. The band One Direction was on hand at the Royal Variety Performance to the a number as well, and the boys -- Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Liam Payne were able to meet the royal couple.
The boys were understandably nervous about their brush with royalty. "It's the most nervous I think I've ever been in my life," Liam shared to the The Mirror after meeting the royal couple. Meanwhile, Louis also confessed that he was a bundle of nerves as well. "I didn't say 'ma'am,'" he admitted. "I said, 'Hi, How are you? I'm Louis.'" Their bandmate, Harry Styles decided to send his warm wishes for the expectant couple. "I said congratulations on the bump," Harry explained. "(Though) she didn't look bumpy." Indeed not, as Kate Middleton's fashion choice of the chic and sleek DVF gown made her look extra radiant.
