The Hobbit The Battle Of the Five Armies Full Movie

The last of the installment of the movies set on Middle Earth is upon us. And because this should be a memorable ending to what has been a very epic series of movies from director Peter Jackson, it's just a fitting send off that a wonderful song and montage of the most memorable events in the movies should be produced. And this is exactly what we have right now in the send off music video, released just a month ahead of The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies full movie this December.

The song in the send off video is actually sung by actor Billy Boyd, who, it will be remembered played Pippin Took in The Lord of The Rings movies. The sad, haunting song "The Last Goodbye" features a series of scenes that fans have known and loved from both The Lord Of The Rings movies, and several scenes as well from The Hobbit.

Here we can appreciate not only the full scale and sweep that the movies have spanned, but also, the beauty of the emotions and the heart that these beloved movies have come to represent. There are even very amusing behind the scenes clips from the movies, where we see our favorite actors drop character and have a light moment. It really is the fitting goodbye clip to show and make people want to see The Hobbit The Battle of the Five Armies full movie.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Billy Boyd shared the backgrounder for how the song came together. "After seeing the film, I went to my room and I started to put down some ideas, and along with Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens, we started to sculpt the song we thought the movie needed," Boyd shared. "I think we discovered very quickly this wasn't just a song to end The Battle of the Five Armies,' it was a song to say goodbye to Middle Earth."

And for those who don't know, this is not actually the first time that Billy Boyd has recorded something for Peter Jackson's Middle Earth movies. It will be recalled that as Pippin, he also sang in the movie The Return of the King. The song, called "The Edge Of Night" was taken from one of the many poems that Tolkien penned, called "A Walking Song."

Watch the song by Billy Boyd, "The Last Goodbye" here. This will also be played during the closing credits of The Hobbit The Battle of the Five Armies full movie.
