The news surrounding Jeremy Lin these days has not been kind, as the point guard struggled to bring Linsanity to the Los Angeles Lakers and play second fiddle to an aging Kobe Bryant.

Gregg Patton of The National noted that Jeremy Lin was brought in on the strength of his past accomplishments, particularly the brief Linsanity era in New York.

However, the first month with the new team has been "erratic" at best.

"Lin has reached 17 or more points five times. But in his last five outings, he has mixed in a scoreless game against Golden State and a humbling three-point effort in his first return to Houston," he said.

However, the heady point guard knows his game and what he has to do, not exactly to bring Linsanity back, but to contribute to the Los Angeles Lakers.

"Just keep attacking, attacking, attacking. I have to keep it simple, go out and create and create as many plays as possible for myself and my teammates," he said.

But the writer said that Jeremy Lin's struggles might not entirely be his fault, as various news sources pointed to the ball dominance of Kobe Bryant.

"To attack and create, a point guard needs the ball in his hands. It was the freedom to do as he pleased with ball possession that sparked his moment of NBA stardom in the winter of 2012 in New York," Patton wrote.

Meanwhile, Jacob Rude wrote for Lake Show Life that "Bryant and his dominant personality has dwarfed Lin and his passiveness."

"Lin has not done himself any favors with his inconsistent play this year. He has five games under 10 points and four games over 15 points, a sign of his inconsistency," he said.

But he has not given up on Linsanity just yet as he wrote that for Jeremy Lin and Kobe Bryant to thrive, they have to play more, not less.
