It seems that the Half Life 3 release date mentioned on Swedish site Webhallen was accidentally listed, new reports claimed.

According to Air Herald, "We don't even know if the game is in development, or how far along the process the game is if it is actively being developed. However, a Swedish retailer, Webhallen, has listed the game to be available sometime in 2015. But, sometimes these websites accidentally list games when in reality they will never be released."

Master Herald previously reported, "Half-Life 3 may exist. Whether it's true or not, this is being suggested by Swedish Videogame Store Webhallen, where recently a brand new retail listing has been found. According to the information provided in the barebones product page, it seems that we may get to experience a 2015 release for the PC platform."

"Webhallen is a relatively popular games retailer. As a result of which this newly released rumor could still be genuine. From 2005-2013, the entire chain was owned by Amazon itself. Till date, it consists of nine different Swedish stores along with a well-referenced online marketplace."

Several reports have hinted that the thrid installment to Valve's popular title is underway, but no official and sound proof have been shown about the said rumors.  Leaked artworks were revealed, but they were proven to be studies of a different game.

Some are saying that the only hope the 3rd installment could ever be released is if Valve decides to outsource the game to a different developer.

JBG News reported that in Dan Amrich's (Ubisoft San Francisco community developer) interview with IGN, he mentioned that Valve should just let someone else do it if they're uninterested to keep the franchise alive.

"According to him, Valve might want to look towards Gearbox if they'd want to follow this path. Gearbox did handle the two expansions of the original Half Life (Blue Shift and Opposing Force), both of which were quite good and are considered canon," the site said.

Meanwhile, Movie Pilot has dished on the possibility of a Half Life 3 release date announcement once Valve completes their new technology. "Valve is busy with their Steam Machine PC/Console hybrids due to be released in 2015, and many have said that Half-Life 3 will be the launch title for it. A man can dream."
