Star Wars Episode 7 News & Rumors: Main Villain To Follow In Darth Vader’s Footsteps? Chewbacca Says Thank You For JJ Abrams’ Force For Change Campaign

The latest news and rumors on "Star Wars Episode 7" hinted that the main villain, Kylo Ren, has a lot of similarities with Darth Vader in the looks department, as Chewie is grateful for the supporters of Force for Change campaign initiated by director JJ Abrams.

According to Indie Revolver, Kylo Ren's "flared dome is reminiscent of Vader's." Unlike the Sith Lord, however, the main villain in "Star Wars Episode 7" wears his helmet beneath a hood just like the Emperor.

Leaked images of the helmet showed that it's ragged and worn out but "Star Wars Episode 7" news and rumors from various sources have not explained why.

"The facemask is removable - a trait which appears to be shared by some of the Episode VII troopers - which leaves Kylo more similar in appearance to his scenes with Vader's helmet," Indie Revolver added.

Meanwhile, the world got the first look at Chewbacca in the video posted by JJ Abrams for his Force For Change campaign, which seeks to raise money for UNICEF. In the video, Chewie says thank you in his unique Shyriiwook language along with the other cast and crew working on "Star Wars Episode 7."

"On behalf of the entire cast and crew of 'Star Wars episode 7,' thank you for your generous contribution," JJ Abrams said. "Because of your incredible support and a one million dollar contribution from Disney to launch the campaign we raised an additional 4.26 million dollars to directly benefit UNICEF's innovative life saving programs for children around the world.

"This means, thousands of children around the world will benefit from UNICEF's pioneering efforts to improve access to education, health resources, and improve communication during emergencies for those who need it most. May the force be with you."

According to previous "Star Wars Episode 7" news, Peter Mayhew will be reprising his role as Chewbacca, the loyal friend and companion of Han Solo, played by Harrison Ford.
