Los Angeles Lakers Player Jeremy Lin Claims He Can Do More; Trade To Miami Heat Mere Rumors?
Los Angeles Lakers point guard Jeremy Lin said that he has yet to reach his full potential for the squad as the rumors about Linsanity being traded to Miami Heat continue.
Serena Winters, the Lakers courtside reporter posted on her Twitter an interview with the Harvard alum: "Jeremy Lin: 'I still think I can make even more plays for this team..But when you talk about reaching my full potential there's still more.'"
The Lakers Nation noted that Linsanity is averaging 10.2 points per game, which is his lowest average since his rookie year playing for the Golden State Warriors where he only scored 2.6 points for the season.
"The 26-year-old is also now playing off the bench after being demoted by head coach Byron Scott. Lin started the first 20 games before losing his starting spot to Ronnie Price," it said.
Meanwhile, the rumors about Jeremy Lin being traded to the Miami Heat just won't die down ahead of the February 19 deadline.
According to Latin Post, it makes sense for the Los Angeles Lakers to trade Linsanity, whose expiring contract is very attractive for teams, and one of the teams who will surely bite is the Miami Heat.
Jeremy Lin still leads Los Angeles Lakers in assists and can surely help the Heat, which ranks 27th out of the 30 teams in assists.
"The Heat are just 14-16 this season, but still the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference. We've seen Lin play well in the East before with the New York Knicks, and wouldn't it be something to watch Lin face his former team at Madison Square Garden?" the article noted.
However, Jeremy Lin being traded to the Heat won't happen because of salary issues.
"Even if Lin is basically an expiring contract, the Heat who is already at the tax threshold would have to send out equal salary just to match the Lakers offer," the the IB Times said. "To get the Lin price tag, the Heat would have to send out a combination of Josh McRoberts or Luol Deng to complete the deal."
