Nam Sang Mi Reminds Fans Of Her Upcoming Wedding
In her acceptance speech for the Excellence Award at the 2014 KBS Drama Awards, Nam Sang Mi reminded fans that she was about to be married.
When she accepted the award for her role in "The Joseon Gunman," she thanked the writer and producer of the drama for making her role so impressive. It was her first historical drama, which presented its own challenges.
"'The Joseon Gunman' was difficult because it was my first historical drama," she said. "I only made it this far thanks to everyone involved in the drama."
Nam Sang Mi shared the Excellence Award with Park Min Young, Lee Si Young, Lim Soo Hyang and Jo Yoon Hee. Park Min Young received her award for her role in "The Healer." and Lee Si Young won for "Golden Cross, Lim Soo Hyang for "Inspiring Generation" and Jo Yoon Hee for "The King's Face."
Besides thanking the writer and producer of "The Joseon Gunman," Nam Sang Mi also thanked the staff and the members of her agency.
"I love everyone from my agency," she said and then referred to her upcoming wedding. "I'll have new family members soon."
It was her agency JR Entertainment that in November confirmed the news of her marriage plans.
"The wedding will take place on Jan. 24 in Yangpyeong County in the Gyeonggi Province," said a JR Entertainment representative. "It will be a small private church wedding with family and friends."
Nam Sang Mi is not marrying another entertainer. Her husband is a businessman whom she met through a mutual friend in 2013.
"They started off as friends before developing a relationship," said the JR Entertainment representative, who described the groom-to-be as just an "average guy."
"The groom-to-be is an average guy running a personal business. He is good responsible guy."
A few years ago Nam Sang Mi dated Lee Sang Yoon, who recently starred in "The Liar Game." They were rumored to be making marriage plans.
The couple met on the set of "Life is Beautiful" and dated for 18 months. When they broke up, they cited their hectic schedules.
Nam Sang Mi and her fiancé decided to marry after dating quietly for a year.
"She will continue her career as an actress with a happy family after her marriage, and will put in efforts to bring only the best works supported by JR Entertainment," said an agency release.
