Phylicia Rashad Clarifies 'This Is About Destruction Of Bill Cosby Legacy': 'Not About Accusers.'

One common denominator emerging from reports about Bill Cosby rape allegations is that members of the Huxtable family from The Cosby Show in the 80s and 90s who have come forward to comment have defended Bill Cosby. First, Keshia Knight Pulliam came to her TV Dad's rescue, saying she can only describe the man as she knew him. Not as someone else's idea of who she is. That seemed straightforward.

Phylicia Rashad, who plays a matriarchal Mrs. Huxtable in the 'Cosby Show' shed more light on the Bill Cosby rape allegations as three more women came forward to testify against the comedian. Tony award winner, Rashad said that the Bill Cosby rape allegation are not about the 'women accusers,' but a deliberate attempt to kill the legacy of Cosby.

Rashad was talking in an interview with ABC news, clarifying that she she was misquoted, when a paper reported her as saying the accusations do not matter. Later she clarified saying, 'She is a woman and she understands the plight of the women.''

Phylicia said, however, this is about a larger issue: 'a deliberate destruction of the Bill Cosby Legacy that spans many years.' She added that the attributes categorized by 20 or so women in the Bill Cosby in rape allegations do not reflect the person she knew as her TV dad.

While the accusations should be taken seriously, Phylicia Rashad said, she also feels that the sexual assault allegation are a hype to get Cosby off television. Cosby's black voice on education, black culture and the entertainment industry carries a lot of weight, according to Rashad.  She feels Cosby is being intentionally set up for a fall.

However, there is  al lot of skepticism surrounding  the Bill Cosby rape allegations and though the allegations are not going way for the iconic entertainer, Cosby did his first 2015 gig in Canada, joking that 'women should no be drinking.' This appears to be Cosby's signature, risking it all for a joke.

Some reports say that Bill Cosby has hired private detective to dig up dirt  on the accusers.
