Korean hip-hop vocalist Yoon Mi Rae recently provided a phone interview to MTV Iggy, where she talked about her friendship with “It’s Okay, That’s Love” star Gong Hyo Jin and her process for creating K-Drama original soundtracks.

When asked about her method for recording an original soundtrack, Yoon Mi Rae said, “Usually I get the script for the drama but there are times when I don't get the script. I like to be involved in the process, as much as I can.”

She developed a strong relationship with Gong Hyo Jin which led Yoon Mi Rae to contribute songs to the soundtracks of two popular Korean dramas. She explained their friendship to MTV Iggy, “In the case of "Master's Sun," they sent me the script so that I could write the lyrics. I know the actress, Gong Hyo Jin personally and I have always been a huge fan of hers. I think she is a phenomenal actress. Whenever she is involved in a drama, I try to become involved in it.”

“Touch Love,” her track for “Master’s Sun” was commercially successful, with the song receiving MelOn Music Awards and Mnet Asian Music Awards for Best Original Soundtrack in 2013. She also appeared on the “It’s Okay, That’s Love” soundtrack, providing the romantic track “I Love You.”

Beyond her soundtrack releases, Yoon Mi Rae recently became the focus of international press on due to an alleged lawsuit against Sony Entertainment for the film “The Interview” which included her 2007 track “Payday” without her permission.

She is currently promoting her single “Angel” which features her husband, Tiger JK and Bizzy. The trio who has previously released music under the monikers Drunken Tiger and MFBTY have ventured into a different approach for “Angel.”
