"Veronica Mars" creator Rob Thomas is bringing to life a Vertigo comic this April. See the "iZombie" first look trailer here!

Thomas and Diane Ruggiero-Wright will be producing the cult-classic series from Chris Roberson and Mike Allred for the CW.

"iZombie" is somewhat similar to Thomas' previously successful teen noir show, "Veronica Mars." Both shows have blond young women with a penchant for solving crimes as the main characters. They also have issues that make them outcasts of society.

However, the similarity ends there. Although both ladies are somewhat different from other normal people, "iZombie" lead character Olivia Moore or Liv actually has a very dark secret.

According to Comicbook.com, Liv suddenly turns into a zombie after attending a party. She prompty goes from an exuberant girl with her whole life planned out to a tired, hungry zombie.

In the "iZombie" first look trailer, Liv sates her hunger by eating the brains she gets from the morgue where she works at. By devouring pieces of a brain, she absorbs the dead person's memories, including how he or she died.

Her boss, Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti, discovers her dark secret. However, instead of getting scared, he becomes excited and even promises to look for Blaine, the zombie that turned her.

Liv finds a purpose in her dilemma with the discovery of her "power." She eventually offers to help out homicide detective Clive Babineaux in solving murder crimes.

"iZombie" is the latest project in the series of DC Comics adaptations for TV. "The Flash" recently received a go signal for a second season by CW.

Rose McIver from "Once Upon A Time" stars as Liv, while "Breakout Kings" actor Malcolm Goodwin is taking on the role of Detective Clive Babineaux. Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti will be played by newcomer Rahul Kohli.

The zombie responsible for Liv's predicament, Blaine, will be portrayed by "The Vampire Diaries" actor David Anders.

Catch the new series on the CW on March 17 at 9PM.
